We had our wedding ceremony at Spence Cabin and our reception at Appalachian Clubhouse. It was a lot of prep work to get Appalachian ready, we ended up renting Appalachian the Thursday and Friday before the Saturday wedding so we could decorate and have the rehearsal dinner there Friday night. We loved how the wedding turned out and to be surrounded by so much natural beauty was very special. Despite some of the logistical issues having these cabins as your venue bring up, we would do it all over in a heartbeat!

Amazing location for our small wedding. We had 68 guests on Oct 28, 2022. The lodge was a great size and stayed a perfect temperature throughout the event. My one and only complaint is that the website stated that the tables were 60” but they are actually 72”. Overall, not a big deal. Loved the experience!

We celebrated the 25th anniversary of the Indianapolis Hiking Club’s annual Smoky Mountains National Park trip. We rented the
Appalachian Clubhouse at Elkmont for a catered dinner for the 60 members present. The venue was fantastic, clean, with lots of rustic charm. The 60” round tables comfortably seat 8. There are 2 gas fireplaces, ceiling fans, muted lighting, wooden folding chairs, and long rectangular tables for serving. Our membership was very happy with the facility.

We had my sons wedding reception here on Sept 29th. Was so nice. Plenty of space, price was more than reasonable, and everyone enjoyed themselves. We only had 1 problem... the rangers in the ghost town were allowing people (hikers) to come up to the bldg while we were decorating and having are event. Even though we had a sign and chain across the parking lot entrance. We understood them using g the portable toilets in the top of the parking lot, but to allow them down and up on
the front porch of the bldg was unacceptable.

Absolutely amazing! Loved having my wedding here. Only problem was from people wandering in. The building was prefect for my rustic wedding. Huge! Even the tables were beautiful. Could not have picked a better place.

Despite the fact that the restrooms were out of service and it was hot and humid, this was a great space for a wedding reception. They even delivered fresh port-a-potties in the morning. The porch area remained cool but inside was a bit stifling in the afternoon. Even at full speed the ceiling fans offered little relief. And yet we had a great time. Spence Cabin is much cooler thanks to the breezes coming off the river.
