The only negative thing was it sure would have looked good if the lawn had been mowed.

The location of this campground is perfect! My wife and our group of friends have been visiting this campground every year for the past 6-7 years, to enjoy kayaking the Caney Fork River. Unfortunately, every year the same Campground Host sours our experience with some opportunity to express extreme disrespect and to treat us like four-year-olds (our group averages 70 years young.) On several different occasions over the years a member of our group has shared this complaint. However, the grumpy old Campground Host is still there and is getting more disrespectful. I’m disappointed that no action has been taken to correct this issue.
Even if you are not victimized by this over-the-top difficult person , you should also be aware of the following park “negatives”:
*Grass not cut often enough! It was over our ankles the entire week!
*Poison ivy and Virginia creeper on some sites.
*Pavilion concrete floor is very slick with the slightest moisture! My wife slipped and fell against a picnic table, cracking several ribs.
*Only one dump station, at the only (one way) exit from the campground. Units frequently block the only exit while lined up to dump.
*No WiFi. The park info shares that there is, but it is only available at the check-in office. A single nearby bench is often crowded with desperate users checking email.
*No secure entry gates in use. When nobody is in check-in office (most of the time) many non-campers cruise through the campground freely.
*Campground is becoming more and more in disrepair…several campsites closed off with soil erosion by flowing river, bathrooms in poor condition, insufficient safety signage and policy signage as expressed by grumpy Campground Host. The list can go on, but I’m sure you get the message.

I stayed at Long Branch for one night on a cross country road trip. I thoroughly enjoyed it. The campground was clean and well maintained. The sites were spacious and easy to back our camper into. I loved the view overlooking the Caney River.
In the evening it was fun to walk down to look at the dam. The playground in the day use area looked nice and well maintained.
I wish I had had more time to explore the river and do some hiking.

Love going camping there, very clean and peaceful! The bathhouses are very nice and the campsites are always a great location no matter what spot! Love going there and feeling like it’s going to a secret little place for a get away with my family!! Our favorite place to camp by far and the rates are perfect!! Highly recommend to anyone looking for a little get away!

Enjoyed being right on the Caney Fork River!
WiFi only goes to the 1st Restroom so only a few campers have access to WiFi.
Recommend upgrading the WiFi to cover the entire campground as TV reception is non existent without it!

Nice site, quiet. Wifi could be stronger with no cell service to speak of.

If somehow you could get better internet that would be great. I'm not sure we could call 911 if needed.

Campround and what they can control are all great!
I was hoping the river would be better suited for fly fishing. With all the rain lately the water was higher than I'd like and the dam seemed to have 3 generators going about everyday we were there.
