This campground is a gem! We tent camped in an electric/water site close to bathrooms. Everything is clean and well maintained. Can’t wait to go back!

We loved camping at Bandy Creek. The bathhouse was immaculately clean and well maintained. The campground was nice and the spaces were a good size. I brought my chihuahua and my friends on the site next to me (they were at 42, I was at 41) brought their two dogs as well. We had a great time. It was close to a lot of hiking and activities. We did however encounter a camper the next day who had his Rottweilers off leash and one charged my chihuahua. PLEASE KEEP YOUR DOGS ON A LEASH. ITS THE RULES. Children and adults fearful of dogs do not appreciate it. My small dog did not appreciate it and I can tell he was ready to bite if necessary. He is 12 pounds. That dog was easily 90+ pounds. FOLLOW THE CAMP RULES OR GO BACKCOUNTRY. These rules are to keep everyone safe and happy. The camp staff were great and made rounds about the sites all day if ever anyone needed anything. I can’t wait to go back next year.

We took 3 of our grandchildren to camp the weekend of the Spring Planting festival. We thoroughly enjoyed the festival, visiting the different booths the rangers share information at. We took advantage of the shuttles to visit the nearby homesteads and the demonstrations going on there. Of course, the grandchildren also enjoyed hiking the trails and cooking s’mores at camp. BSF never disappoints.

Campground spaces were clean, spacious and very quiet. Hiked out of the campground on a nice loop. There are so many good trails to explore.

Important Travel Advisory for Visitors to Bandy Creek Campground If you are traveling from Oneida, TN to Bandy Creek Campground via Highway 297, please be aware that this route includes a 13% downhill grade and winding curves as it descends into the gorge and crosses the Big South Fork River. This section of the highway can be especially challenging for large vehicles, RVs, and those towing trailers. Use caution, reduce speed, and shift to a lower gear before beginning the descent. If you are not comfortable with steep grades and sharp curves, consider an alternate route via Highway 154 to Bandy Creek Road. |
