What Guests Are Saying
Floating Mill Park is a beautiful campground with stunning views, well-maintained facilities, and friendly staff, making it a popular choice for visitors. Many guests appreciate the cleanliness of the restrooms and the lovely playground for children. However, some concerns include crowded campsites that lack privacy and inconsistent maintenance of the grounds, particularly the grass and landscaping.

Loved the beach and being so close to the water, the some of the sites are tight to get into and the access roads are narrow

Campground Hosts Paul and Kathy were very hospitable and friendly. Very thankful for them. The campground is well kept and bathhouse was clean. Boat and trailer parking is a real problem. We don't have a boat, but you can see frustration in those that do. We will probably stop coming on holiday weekends due to the traffic it causes. We really enjoy camping at Floating Mills. And will be back again.

This was a holiday weekend and it was expected to be more crowded than normal. I know there are rules and regulations to be followed but in extreme crowding there should be some leeway for managing the number of vehicles in the park. The Floating Mill campground has very little extra parking and for this particular weekend the water level was higher than normal which also depleted some of the normal parking spaces. I witnessed people being told to move their vehicles when they were within the parking area with the exception of only one tire on an area designated as "no parking". In no way were these vehicles blocking the flow of traffic. The bathhouse walls were covered with some type of bugs all over the walls and vanity area. I have camped at this campground for several years and have not encountered this issue before.
These bathrooms were cleaned daily so I don't know what could be done for the bugs. In summary, with the campground being full on holidays, I think the management should be allowed to be more understanding on managing the parking area. I do't think Recreation.gov can do much about this but the feedback needs to be forwarded to the Corp of Engineers that is over this campground.
