Cades Cove Campground offers a beautiful and peaceful setting for camping, with well-maintained facilities and friendly staff. Many visitors appreciate the organized layout, cleanliness, and wildlife sightings, making it a favorite annual destination. While some concerns about bathroom maintenance and water access were noted, the overall experience is highly positive, especially for biking and nature enthusiasts.

We have been camping in Cades Cove for over 40 years. The experience is always amazing. Started bringing my children then grandchildren and now camping with my great grandchildren. The loop is always a highlight of our trip and the younger group love the bikes only Wednesdays. This year we saw bears everytime we drove or biked the loop.
I just wish they would have an area in B section near the creek that was generator free. So many generators running all day until 8PM.
Be aware that the rules regarding restricted items in the campsite are enforced. We received a much deserved $80 fine for carelesssly leaving items out on our picnic table. Be sure to read the info in the ranger station when you check in! There are very good reasons for these rules and I was embarrassed that we were so careless.
We love the Cove and will be returning next year.

This campsite is awesome (definitely the favorite of our Smoky Mountain trip)! Very clean and quiet. The campground is super close to a lot of activities. My brother and I explored the Cades Cove loop. We also used the ranger station parking while we backpacked up to Spence Field shelter on the AT. I hope to visit this campsite again!

The campground at Cades Cove Loop B sites were small in most rows with the last row having the largest sites. No showers or electricity available. This is the only loop that allows generators. From 8 am to 8 pm. Although there are 5 handicap sites 2 of the sites near camp store showed reserved on the Rec.gov website but there was never any campers in them the whole 2 weeks we were there. It looked like they used them for parking vehicles of those that worked in the camp store. My husband has a handicap and although we asked at the office they told us there were no other sites available. The camp host was not friendly at all and was constantly driving around looking at sites, writing campers up for trivial things like shower houses, cars tires on grass, generators running during day even if you just ran down to camp store. Felt like we were being watched the whole time. If the handicapped sites would have been available not only us but a women next to us who needed a breathing machine all night could have used it and not had people complaining of their generator running all night. The Cove was nice to ride our bikes through except for the fact there were bikes racing through the loop like they were trying to beat a time record, passing around those that were trying to see the sites of the cove which was making riders nervous as they sped by. We found it much nicer to go later in the evening when there was hardly anyone there both on bike days and car days. We were not informed that there was WIFI was available by camp store just happened to find out when we seen people sitting on benches with their phone and asked about it. It would really be great if they would at least provide showers in the restroom for campers and make all handicap available for campers with the money they are making on parking fees in the park.
