I want to give a shout out to the camp host because he does an excellent job keeping the campground clean!
This campground was small and quaint. We stayed in site 15 and loved how it sat against the woods.
I plan to come back for sure. The only downside was the construction going on beside the campsite. Upon arrival, the crew worked till 7 pm Friday night and left a loud generator running until 11 pm Saturday night. Some may not be bothered by the noise, however, when I'm camping, I prefer to hear the sounds of nature. Other than that, it was great. :)

Dale, the camp host, is top notch. Cleans and rakes each site when someone pulls ou. He checks daily to assure everyone is okay. If he has extra wood, he offers it to those in need. Full of friendliness and local information too. Bathroom facilities are not the best, but this is RUSTIC camping! He does his best to keep them the cleanest that he can. THE SITE MAP NEEDS FIXED. but that's nothing that he can do anything about, but it does cause him a lot of issues with the sites NOT matching the map. Thanks Dale, and sorry that we had to cancel our October reservations so won't see you until next year! "Hi " to those great boys of yours! Kathy & Fred Montgomery

Very nice campground with large tent pad, a fire ring and picnic table. Site was nicely shaded and had plenty of kindling and firewood for a fire. We stayed one night and enjoyed Watuga lake before camping. Then drove to Grandfather mountain the next day.
