There is a lot going for this rv campground. Convenient location. Nice layout and facilities. Just a few things would change my rating.
First, the two-block drive from the highway to the park is awful. It’s paved, but it may as well be a washboard dirt road. That isn’t in control of the RV park, but it is a bad first impression.
Next, there are really nice restrooms and showers. They’re very private. You get a bathroom, complete with toilet, sink (and a nice vanity for your stuff), and a shower. You also get a small bench for dressing. Unfortunately, several of the bathroom doors wouldn’t close, making them useless.
We didn’t visit the pool/clubhouse, but they look nice.
The rental cabins look great. They also have rv hookups. Looks like they may be great for groups traveling with more people than their RV can support overnight.
Our dog was happy overall. Good dog runs.
Here’s where things went bad: sewer smell. That can happen at RV parks, especially when a tenant doesn’t have a tight seal on their hose. This wasn’t just one tenant. I walked the length of the park…the smell was prominent throughout. Amarillo is a windy place. Maybe that was the cause. Nope. When we awoke in the morning, winds were calm. The same stink.
Finally, like all good RV campgrounds, they have quiet hours. That’s a good thing. At 6:30am, a trash truck came through the park, making a ton of noise. I understand that it’s difficult to get a garbage collector to show up during daylight hours, but if the tenants of an RV park must observe quiet hours, it seems reasonable that everyone should do the same.
If you can live with these issues, you’ll love this RV park. I don’t think it would take much to address the issues. I hope they do, because this place is really well designed overall.
