Lake Bastrop South Shore Park

Beautiful park, unfortunately their rules do not seem to apply to everyone. They will rent water sports equipment to some people and not to other people. Breaking rules for some people and not allowing short-term rental for other people. Completely ridiculous to allow rental to one person and not the next person when they are right next to each other at the same time at two different computer screens

Cute cabins, clean and new, with electricity and A/C. The bathrooms are shared, standard for campsites, but with a code.
The cabin area is very peaceful, the office staff was friendly and helpful. Check-in is at 4pm, checkout at 11am.

We loved the cabin that we stayed in, and the park is gorgeous. As a native Georgian, the “lost pines” feel more like home. :) The staff is super nice, and I can’t recommend camping here enough. Also, if you do go here, check out the bird observatory!

Some of the cabins are dog-friendly with an extra $50 fee. We stayed in a deluxe cabin that included bedding, microwave, mini fridge, futon, small table and 2 chairs, and a roll away bed. Outside, there were 2 Adirondack chairs and a picnic table. The cabins do not have restrooms, but they are a short walk away. There is an ice and water machine (fee) at the headquarters. Recommend Roadhouse in Bastrop for an excellent 🍔.
