The window trail hike was great. Saw several bears. I would recommend going early in morning to see them. Was disappointed that Santa Elena canyon was closed.

Pros:
The scenery at the campsite was spectacular.
Toilet facilities were easily accessible.
Some sites had covered picnic tables.
Charcoal grills in good condition were at each campsite.
Bear proof food storage was available at each campsite.
Sites were easily accessible.
Cons:
Parking was very limited, and not sure how you could fit two vehicles at a site.
Could not use a vehicle awning as all vehicles had to be parked on the blacktop. No place to drive stakes.
No electricity and generators not allowed.
Uneven camping surfaces and little room for multiple tents.
No real trash disposal except for small individual items.

Nice area. I stayed a single night in late September, and it cooled off nicely at night. Camp host was friendly. Flying insects (i.e., mosquitoes, gnats) were not an issue … I didn't notice any.

Highly recommend this campground. Site 60 has amazing views, 2 great spots to add a tent(s) and a canopy that helps keep you out of the sun!

Nice campsites, but crowded with bathrooms and wash areas not sized for the number of campers. Great if you’re here in low season, otherwise expect to be rubbing elbows with your neighbors.

One of the most amazing campgrounds of my life. Amazing views, great wildlife, mostly shaded (even if artificially like built shelters).
Of course, it wouldn't hurt if there were showers there, 3 days hiking and canoeing non-stop in such a heat do ask for some sorta refreshments. Something for y'all to think about
