What Guests Are Saying

Cranes Mill Park is a well-maintained campground with spacious RV sites, clean restrooms, and a peaceful atmosphere, ideal for a quiet getaway. Campers appreciate the friendly staff and beautiful surroundings, including wildlife sightings. However, some visitors experienced challenges with finding the park, low lake levels, and noise from nearby campers, which slightly affected their overall experience.

Check in was quick and friendly.
Campsites were spacious but lacking in shade due to COEs practice of cutting down most trees. The lake was very low and not accessible due to a 10-12 ft border of dried dead water weeds and another 10 ft of weed in the water. On the first night of our stay there were swarms of tiny mosquitoes that coated the outdoor camper lights black. Fewer on subsequent nights. The bathrooms are only cleaned 1-2x per week and bathroom counters were littered with dead bugs for our entire 3 night stay. Otherwise the 2 toilet stalls and the 2 showers were adequate. The camp host was friendly but mostly inaccessible as his campsite was in a distant part of the campground that was blocked off to car traffic. Not sure what his job is as he apparently is not responsible for cleaning the bathrooms. There are no trails or any pretty parts in this campground. Very square foot of area surrounding the lake outside of the campgrounds is taken up by residential developments. New Braunfels and Gruene are a 25 mi drive in one direction, Guadeloupe state park 25 mi in another. Natural Bridges Cavern and a wildlife ranch are nearby.

Nice quiet park on the lake. Spots are very spacious, 50 amp plus water hookups. Dump station nearby. We were in spot 27 closer to the lake but there are no bad spots. Gate closes and locks at 9pm so be back before or you will have to park outside and walk in lol!

What a beautiful campsite! We stayed at 14 and it was the perfect spot for us. It was close to the water for beautiful sunrise and sunsets, has a large tree to hang a hammock on, and it is walking distance to the fishing dock and restrooms. The bathrooms were clean and always stocked. I highly recommend and we will be back.

Loved it here. Quiet. Clean. The only tiniest of complaint is there were no maps of the lake itself to hand out.

Campground was nice. Only complaint was dogs unleashed and barking and 3 pm check in. Should be able to check in around 1 and they should crack down on ppl letting dogs run loose.

Very nice campground. Plenty of room between sites. My only suggestion would be to increase the water flow in the showers. It was so little it was difficult to wash the soap out of one's hair.

The park was nice and very spacious however the septic system went out during our stay rendering the dump station and main bath house inoperable. There were no backup plans for rv dumping even though there was a working septic system in a closed loop that only had working toilets other than a 2 hour round trip to another AC park on the other side of the lake. The park management here has no sense of urgency for these types of critical repairs. The septic system is still out over a week later. We left an went to another AC park on Lake Georgetown where all their facilities were in great working order. Be careful choosing this park.
