About Cranes Mill Park

Cranes Mill Park is located on a long peninsula on the southwestern shore of Canyon Lake in Texas Hill Country, halfway between Austin and San Antonio. Dramatic sunrises to the east of the park across Canyon Lake and sunsets on the western side of the park behind the Guadalupe River make this an unforgettable location.

What Guests Are Saying

Cranes Mill Park is a well-maintained campground with spacious RV sites, clean restrooms, and a peaceful atmosphere, ideal for a quiet getaway. Campers appreciate the friendly staff and beautiful surroundings, including wildlife sightings. However, some visitors experienced challenges with finding the park, low lake levels, and noise from nearby campers, which slightly affected their overall experience.

Always a lovely stay! We're from WA state and have been here, and Potter's Creek several times. Aside from the unexpected cold snap which shut the park water off, all was well.

Very well-maintained. Very clean. Staff was exceptional – friendly, very helpful. I’ve been RVing full-time now for about 3 1/2 years and this is probably the second best site I’ve been to. Tom, who I think is the lead volunteer is absolutely outstanding. He is knowledgeable about flora and fauna and was great fun to have conversations with.

Very nice! Concrete pads with extra space for our truck. Host was friendly and helpful! We stayed in site 13. Had a bit of an incline but great view. Enjoyed being able to get out and walk in January. We would recommend this park, but it is over an hour away from San Antonio, so not convenient for sightseeing.

Cranes Mill is a very clean, well-kept camping area. Bathrooms are well-maintained. Camping sites are fairly level. Would go back again.

The occupants should be able to come back into the park at anytime if they are staying there. They shouldn’t have to park outside the gate after 21:00 and walk in . Why is there no key pad for occupants to use.

We love this park. Nice and quiet and well maintained. I do have a couple of things I wish they would improve. The bathrooms need a little love and a coat of light colored paint. SO dark and drab - and the heater in the women’s side needs to work on cold days! Also, their strict rules about check in time is so annoying. If you show up early (3pm check in) and you have to wait until exactly 3 even if your spot is vacated already. Rude.
