The place is amazing and above my expectations. I can't believe that this beautiful and serene place is right next to Houston. Truly in love with it. The camping area staff is also very helpful and courteous. Overall it was an amazing experience.

Very well maintained and beautiful campground! Camp sites are really far apart which was nice. This is a very quiet and peaceful place to visit and the camp host was very helpful and friendly.
We had a beautiful waterfront RV site and were able to launch our kayak and canoe right from the bank where we were camping. Will definitely visit again!

Very relaxing park. The lake is easy to walk around and many places to stop relax or fish. The swimming area was lots of fun. We wish there were more walking trails, however the park has excellent bike trails. The RV sites were very spread apart and we felt like we had our own slice of the forest. We enjoyed our time and look forward to returning.

From New Waverly, Texas, go 22 mi east on Highway 150 to FM 2025. Turn and drive south 0.3 mi to the campground.

Double Lake Recreation Area is accessible via Highway 150, which is approximately 22 miles west of New Waverly, Texas.
Policies & Rules
General
- PLEASE DO NOT DISPOSE FLUSHABLE WIPES INTO CAMPGROUND WASTEWATER SYSTEM. THESE PRODUCTS CAUSE SIGNIFICANT BLOCKAGE ISSUES AND ARE NOT COMPATIBLE WITH OUR WASTEWATER TREATMENT SYSTEM.
- Two vehicles included with each standard site fee; Four vehicles included with group site fee; extra vehicles charged $9 per night on-site
- Only two tents and up to eight people are allowed at a single occupancy campsite
- No access for newly arriving campers.
- Fire permitted in fire rings only
- Street Legal Vehicles Only
- No alcohol.
- Day use fee of $7 per vehicle per day; annual pass $30 per vehicle; walk-in or bicycle $1 per person per day; dump station use $5 per use
- Site must be occupied in the first 24 hours of reservations
