We have been having our family reunion at Hord's Creek for the last 35 years. They all have been great except for the last couple of years. The grass hadn't been cut and standing over a foot tall. We had to take our riding lawn mower to cut the grass around group 1 in order for the kids to be able to play around.

We drove 2 1/2 to get there. I read online no cash so I figured we would pay at the window with a credit card they had plenty of spots. When we arrived he asked if we had reservations. No we did not. They only had 1 night available with a shelter with air. I had to make a reservation in the sun for 30 minutes trying to figure out there system on my phone. Finally paid for one night. We went to the shelter w/air. Walked in and it was disgusting. It melt like dog & cigarette smoke. It had dog urine on the ground. There was no way we were staying in that. Less than 10 minutes I drove back to the office and asked for a refund. I told her the problem and she agreed people should not do that. But in less than 10 minutes of being there they would not give me back my money. Ridiculous! I then looked online and they had already listed it again as available. Not a very good system. We drove straight back home. Was not a pleasant experience. We would not recommend or go back. Also the water was so low you would be swimming in a mudhole and probably catch a flesh eating bacteria.
