What Guests Are Saying
Lakeside Park is highly praised for its beautiful, spacious campsites shaded by large oak trees and abundant wildlife, including deer. Visitors appreciate the friendly and helpful staff, clean facilities, and the peaceful atmosphere, making it a preferred destination for camping. However, some reviewers noted issues with tall grass, dated bathrooms, and occasional maintenance concerns, but these did not significantly detract from their overall positive experiences.

We drove 2 1/2 to get there. I read online no cash so I figured we would pay at the window with a credit card they had plenty of spots. When we arrived he asked if we had reservations. No we did not. They only had 1 night available with a shelter with air. I had to make a reservation in the sun for 30 minutes trying to figure out there system on my phone. Finally paid for one night. We went to the shelter w/air. Walked in and it was disgusting. It melt like dog & cigarette smoke. It had dog urine on the ground. There was no way we were staying in that. Less than 10 minutes I drove back to the office and asked for a refund. I told her the problem and she agreed people should not do that. But in less than 10 minutes of being there they would not give me back my money. Ridiculous! I then looked online and they had already listed it again as available. Not a very good system. We drove straight back home. Was not a pleasant experience. We would not recommend or go back. Also the water was so low you would be swimming in a mudhole and probably catch a flesh eating bacteria.

The were signs that said no dogs on the beach but when we went swimming there at least 5 dogs on the beach and in the water. 2 dogs pooped on the beach and no-one cleaned it up and the others we are peeing on the edge of the water and it was quite gross. We left early so paid for nothing. I cant have my kids walking around a beach covered in dog pee and poop and thats the main reason we camped there for the beautiful lake.

The spot we reserved said full shade. The only shade was above the picnic table. Grass was tall and had not been mowed. We did not stay. Park itself looked ok
