RV Park was nice and clean had to change reservations gate keeper made it very easy and was nice and helpful had a great stay very peaceful relaxing time just love it lake looked great all a very Blessed time ‼️

This is an absolutely beautiful park. It was so quiet and peaceful. The sites were not to close together. They were also a very good size with lots of trees. We only had one issue. The site we were in had about a 16" tall steel rail around the entire site with the hookups at the back of the site. We were towing a small car on a tow dolly. In order to back into the site, we had to unload the car from dolly, then unhook the dolly from the car. There was plenty of room but it was inconvenient for a one night stay. If we hadn't been towing a car, the site would have been perfect. The railing also made it slightly stressful trying to turn some corners with 40 ft of motorhome and tow vehicle. The people at the gate were very nice.

Hords Creek is always great to camp at but the past 2 weekends the grass has been so tall. Surprised me that it wasn’t mowed before Memorial Day.

We have our HOG campout and picnic here every year on Group Site #5. The roads and sites are good. The space is beautiful. The Rangers are friendly. The place is clean. The lake was very low this year and the designated swimming area was dry. Still, there were lots of boats and water fun to be had.

Toilets were backed up! Showers were not working! I understand that many people have showers and toilets in their campers, however many don't! This is not the first time! In fact its been this way the past three years! I love Hordes Creek! And I hate to see it going down hill! Bathrooms definitely need upgrade!

We love camping here. The sites are spacious, with ample shade during hot Texas days. I really wish the sites had been mowed because high grasses are dangerous. Almost every site has a view of the water. Bathhouse is somewhat dated but clean. We will return here. Perfect place for simple camping!

Getting There
From Coleman, TX, take Hwy 153 west 7 mi to the main entrance to
Hords Creek Lake. Follow signs into the campground.
Highway access
The campground is accessible via Hwy 153, which connects to US Highway 84 approximately 15 miles to the north.
Policies & Rules
Arrival & departure
- The gatehouse hours are Sunday to Thursday from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM, and Friday to Saturday and Holidays from 9:00 AM to 10:00 PM.
- Entrance into the park is prohibited between 10 PM and 6 AM for security reasons.
Cancellation policy
- Reservation fees are non-refundable. For campsites, cabins, lookouts, yurts, group sites, and similar stays, we charge a reservation service fee of $8.
- Standard cancellations usually have a $10 cancellation fee. Customers can generally cancel before the check-in date online.
- Late cancellation rules differ by stay type.
- Individual campsites: cancelling after 12:00am local time the day before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- Cabins, lookouts, and yurts: cancelling less than 14 days before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- One-night reservations: a late cancellation usually forfeits the full amount paid, up to the total original reservation cost.
- Modifications are allowed before the cut-off window, but fees depend on the change. Changing to dates completely outside the original reservation dates may trigger a $10 change fee. Extending or shortening a stay that still includes original dates usually has no change fee, though refunds may depend on timing and facility rules. Switching to the same type of campsite for the same dates usually has no change fee, but price differences are charged or refunded.
- Early departures may or may not be refunded. At certain facilities, partial refunds may be possible if staff can mark the site available for other visitors. No refund is given for a night if the early departure is requested after that day's check-out time.
- Security deposits are separate. Security deposits may be refunded to the original payment method if the facility is left in acceptable condition, as determined by the property.
General
- This park is located on Hords Creek Lake, Texas. Please ensure this is the correct 'Lakeside Campground' you wish to reserve.
Safety & rules
- Boating is at your own risk due to low water levels that may expose underwater hazards.
- Life jackets are required for all lake activities.
- There are no designated swim beach areas due to low lake levels.
Fires & fuel
- Firewood should be purchased locally and burned on-site to prevent the spread of pests.
Site types & loops
- Certain sites will be closed seasonally from October 1 to February 28.
Vehicles & parking
- Vehicles must comply with state laws, including registration and inspection; off-road vehicles and golf carts are not allowed.
- Campsites allow 2 free vehicles; additional vehicles incur a $5 daily fee. Maximum of 4 vehicles for single occupancy and 8 for double occupancy sites.
Wildlife & food storage
- Take precautions to prevent invasive species: clean gear, stay on trails, and properly dispose of organic waste.
