What Guests Are Saying
Lakeside Park is highly praised for its beautiful, spacious campsites shaded by large oak trees and abundant wildlife, including deer. Visitors appreciate the friendly and helpful staff, clean facilities, and the peaceful atmosphere, making it a preferred destination for camping. However, some reviewers noted issues with tall grass, dated bathrooms, and occasional maintenance concerns, but these did not significantly detract from their overall positive experiences.

We love this park, we come two to three times a year. Park is normally well maintained and watching the wildlife is great. We like riding our bikes and the sunsets.

Beautiful park! Off the beaten path but well worth it! Camping spots are very spacious with great views and nice shade. Deer wander through. Bathrooms are good and showers are great! Will go back & stay longer!

Hordes Creek Lake is a beautiful park with lots of deer roaming around. Camp site #001 is a beautiful, private, shady site.

Beautifully maintained park with lots of huge oak trees. Most spots in Lakeside area are shaded by these trees. Most sites seem pretty level but some definitely were very slanted & uneven. Some sites have full hookups while ours had electric and water. A dump station (with 2 sites) was available past the restrooms. Restroom facilities are dated, like most core of engineers parks but they were clean with no trash. They are, however, located away from most sites so consider using your scooter or bike if you need to use them.
Front gate & park staff were very friendly and helpful.
The lake was very low but still beautiful. Would like to come back again when it’s filled up.
This park is huge, with many different sections on either side of the dam. Lots of hiking and biking for everyone.
