This is a nice COE park. The site are large and it was quiet. The lake was quite low. The only complaint we had was they did not tell us when we checked in that the Buck Moth caterpillars (I believe that is correct) were very plentiful and that they sting. They are in the trees and will drop on you. They also appear to be aggressive and will come right to you and sting. It may just be the time of the year that we were there.

Hords Creek corps of engineer park is a great park to visit. As we have a motorhome, we always chose the lakeside camping loops with full hook-ups. The sites are spacious, level, well maintained and have a covered picnic table and bbq pit. There are lots of roads to walk, fishing and boating (though the lake is very low now). It’s a great place to gather with friends. Or to just go to relax and enjoy, especially the sunsets. A big thumbs up for this park

The lake is really low. I am wishing COE a would come do a clean out while it is dry. Yes I said DRY! It is that bad!
I like the campsite we had 63.! I must, we stay there a lot. I won’t ever be staying in site 69 any more! Bad things happened to me the two times we stayed there. I suffered a bad leg injury on my trip to town. Stepped out of the car twisted. A ligament that put me down for a solid 3 weeks! Not allowed to drive myself NO where. It is all better now.

If you just wanna relax and enjoy the view of the lake and see the deer, it’s a wonderful place. The sides are far enough away from your neighbor so you feel like you have privacy. The park is clean and neat and very well kept. The only thing I can see is you don’t have phone service. But if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle, this is the place.
