Beautiful spacious park only thing is all the garbage. Seems everywhere we go in Texas people just leave it and expect someone else to cleanup after them.

The campground was really spread out between different campsite sections. The sites were nice and big with a covered picnic table and fire pit. Not our ideal campground because we like there to be undergrowth and more trees to block out the surrounding campers but the site was big enough that had it been busy I don’t think it would have been a horrible situation. I had originally booked us at site 60 but it had such a pitch that my husband was afraid the camper was going to slide right into the lake. The old rotted railroad tie that was there wasn’t fastened down and would have been easily pushed aside We ended up moving to site 57 and spent our 4 nights there. The office guy really had no clue what he was doing at the computer and basically told us there were only 3 campsites available after standing at his window over 30 minutes. This campground is HUGE and was essentially empty the whole time we were there. Other than that one hiccup all went well. Not our ideal place to stay had it been busy but just perfect when we went in February.

Site 102 - excellent sunset view! Firepit felt like it was on the wrong side - it felt like we were sitting in the neighbor's yard. Spaces a little too close for our liking in that particular loop, but we are picky!! :) Didn't see any evidence of the argentine ants that have been mentioned but weather was cooler. Will definitely be back - already booked into another site for 3 mos from now.

We recommend getting there in the day light. We were unable to find our campsite. Fortunately for us the Park was almost empty. Unsure as to why, it is a beautiful place. Great size lots and so peaceful. We will be back.
