We "camped" at Liberty Hill park on Navarro Mills lake in a motorhome at one of the full hookup sites. We always enjoy the openness of of COE or state parks and this campground did not disappoint. Wide open rolling grassy areas surround the many different areas of the park.
We did not see any of the Argentine ants we were warned about. Possibly due to a treatment for them that we heard they had done a week or so earlier.
We did hear and see MANY of the state birds of Texas.

This is a good park and the staff is great . As with all corp parks there has been no up grades and very little maintenance. For the price it is great. The corp needs to up the rates and do some upgrades

We've always like to stay here. The bluebonnets and paintbrushes were in full bloom! The only thing that is disturbing is, this park seems to be a dumping station for pets that their owners no longer want to take care of...sad. The park hosts can't do anything about it and the rangers really won't. The county does not have an animal control officer and there is no shelter near by.
