River Forest Haven

This campsite was excellent! Very secluded, wooded, and lots of wildlife at night. There are port a potties scattered around so they’re never too far away, and one really lovely and decorated public bathroom over near the day parking and RV area. Plenty of space to walk around and explore and lots of river front areas. Owners were very nice and helpful. Loved it!

My pups and I had a nice stay at River Forest Haven. The campsites were clean and the other campers were very respectful, which made for a relaxing trip. The only thing worth noting is that we occasionally heard gunfire from a nearby property. It didn’t bother me too much, but one of my pups was a little uneasy with the noise. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

The camp is very clean and has multiple options for campers from tenting, RVing. We stayed at river #17 campground. The campground managers were VERY communicative throughout our stay. If we needed wood or an inner tube they were happy to let us know the process and arrived to provide what was needed quickly. The showers were a welcome added benefit of the campground. We had a small issue with an unwelcome guess and with one quick message to the campground they took care of it. I look forward to enjoying more moments at this campground in the future!

Booked River Plus 5 for the 4th of July weekend. We got out there and it was so nice; full sized picnic table, nice private dock and the whole campsite is shaded by big trees.
The staff is quick to answer to text and bring requested items in a timely manner. We got stuck in the mud and they pulled our truck out. When Saturday was rained out we were given a gift certificate for the amount not used due to the weather. Excited to be back in a few weeks for a full weekend 🏕️💫

We had an incredible experience at River Forest Haven! From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed by the beautiful, peaceful surroundings and the warm hospitality of the hosts. They were extremely helpful and responsive, making sure we had everything we needed for a great stay.

The campsite itself was shaded& secluded enough to feel like a true escape into nature but still well-maintained and comfortable. We brought our dogs along, and they had a ball. We paddle boarded & canoed.

If you’re looking for a relaxing getaway from the city with great hosts, scenic nature, and pet-friendly fun, River Forest Haven is the perfect spot. We’ll definitely be back!
