Hickory Creek offers clean campsites, plenty of shade from trees, and a beautiful natural setting with abundant wildlife, making it a favorite for many campers. Guests appreciate the friendly and helpful staff, along with well-maintained grounds and facilities. However, there are consistent concerns regarding the cleanliness and maintenance of bathrooms, along with some issues related to power outages.

RV sites are generous, most with lake frontage. Great paved trails, easy access to the highway, near restaurants and grocery. Shower houses are old, but adequate.

Shades are less, but lots of open area makes good playing area with kids.
Lots of noise from side highway and airport.

The roadway is very narrow and it was difficult to back into my site. Campers across the road had to move their car for my entry. Bathroom was nasty. Not the usual high caliber of COE campgrounds.

Quiet. Nice spot. The bathrooms leave something to be desired. No seats on the womens? I’m used to better from COE campgrounds.

Nice people at the gates when you arrive. Friendly and engaging. Park is exceptionally clean and I’ve always had good neighbors there.

Lovely spots, cleanish bathrooms though they are a little beat up. Quiet and lots of pets.

We camped here on our way to Galveston TX and also stopped again on our way back 2 weeks later. It's a beautiful park and the sites are roomy and very nice. The only drawback is that you can hear the airplanes from Dallas airport. But we're in a hybrid camper so in a regular camper with the air conditioner on you probably wouldn't notice.
We plan to come again.
