Hickory Creek (TX)

Front gate employee was helpful and present. Campsite was clean. Workers at the park were seen cleaning campsites after previous reservations left.

I really enjoyed our Gate attendant. She was so friendly, informative, and always wore a smile.
The grass was mowed better and did more areas were needed.
The worse thing was the drop-off from pavement to grass. Someone is going to get really hurt from this neglect!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The roofs over the picnic tables are missing alot of shingles. The wood seats of the picnic tables are leaving splinters in your legs and bottom area. My kids won't use the Picnic tables.
I wish the rules of all campsites were the same from gate attendant to the next gate attendant.
I almost forgot my disappointment, year after year, I complain about only having one hole for dumping!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This hidden gem of a campground is exceptionally nice. And I only live 25 minutes away. Who knew the one of best campground I've been to is nearly in my backyard. I've been travelling all over Texas and Oklahoma to find great campsites. But with most nice campgrounds, I wish it wasn't so hard to reserve waterfront sites. All of the staff were very polite and helpful. Even the Hickory Creek police officer we met on our last day stopped and took the time to chat with us. I honestly can't think of anything I'd improve on. And if you're visiting from out of town, you're not going to find anything even close to this nice so conveniently located in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.

Had a lovely shady site with a water view and daily visits from deer and ducks. Sites were spaced with plenty of room between. Site was level with easy access to water & electric. We did not use the bathhouses. Front gate volunteers were very friendly. We'll be back!

Don’t arrive 5 minutes before 3pm or you may be denied entry even if your site is empty

Beautiful area. Quite and peaceful. There is plenty of space between camp sites. Clean and well cared for campground. We intend to go back many times to create family memories. It really is a blessing to camp here.

We are always happy with the way the park is managed. The gate attendant is always friendly! We stayed in site 122! The park hosts is cleaning the sites as campers leave. The bathroom are getting better than before. The deer are always around! The area has been mowed and well maintained. Our site was very level and easy to back into. We will be back in the near future

Gate attendees/park host are outstanding. Enjoyed every thing about the park. Bathrooms and or shower houses do need a lot of help. Cleaned painted and freshened up.

Great park except electrical work is disruptive until they complete work. Many sites shut down. Bathrooms could use work both inside and outside.

Thus far this might be my favorite campground. Clean, quiet, and many deer sightings. Also the lady at the front gate was so lovely. Def would come back on day.
