Always a pleasure to stay here. Nice sites, clean, good cell phone reception. Our only concern is that often people don’t have their dogs on a leash causing problems when we walk our dogs.

A couple of the spots I found tough to back into, but I'm pretty new to it. There are plenty of bathrooms but they are kind of run down and a little gross, unfortunately that seems standard. Great folks for the most part and really quiet. Lots of dogs, kids and trees.

This is a great Campground! It’s near the beaten path of I-35 and right on Lake Lewisville. Deer are walking around the park most of the time.
HOWEVER…. I sure wish they would update the restrooms. They are exactly the same as they were almost 20 years ago when I stayed here during my divorce. The same broken toilet taped off. Maybe even the same dead bugs. The water didn’t get hot in the restroom I was in so I had to put my clothes back on and then drive to another restroom (I am missing a foot and there are no handicap bars). I don’t understand why it has to be this way. I just came from a Corps of Engineers park that cleaned their restrooms thoroughly every day! The showers were great.

We love this park. Great sites, and beautiful grounds and awesome walking paths.
Realizing financial support may be a challenge, I just wanted to mention the bathrooms are in need of cleaning and repair.

Stayed numerous times. This was the worst we’ve seen at the park. Don’t know if from Gov. shutdown of what, but was terrible in bathrooms and showers, heads were missing and full of disgusting garbage, dead bugs and leaves all over inside the buildings. Both we tried by our site.
Very disappointing, like a third world county owned it. Not the USA!!!

An occasional dock for fishing throughout the waterfront would be nice.
Spraying for Poison Ivy would be helpful too.
Since you don’t sell firewood it would be nice to see piles of cut wood that campers could take. Probably easier than disposing of it.
Wi-Fi would be nice.
Sewer taps on all sites would be really nice too.
I saw small kids spending a lot of time in the woods at the waters edge. Hopefully snakes and gators are scarce. Their parents were not concerned.
Above are suggestions but what is already in place is hard to beat.

When traveling North on I-35E, take exit 458A toward Swisher Rd/FM-2181 onto S stemmons Fwy. Continue onto N Stemmons Fwy toward Hundley Dr/Turbeville Rd. Turn right on to N Lake Dallas Dr towards Hundley Dr/Turbeville Rd. Turn sharp right onto W Hundley Dr towards Hickory Creek. Continue on Turbeville Rd, and turn left onto Point Vista Rd. After 0.5 miles, Hickory Creek Campground will be on the right.
When traveling South on I-35E, take exit 457 toward Lake Dallas Dr onto Stemmons Fwy. Then, take ramp towards Turbeville Rd/Hundley Dr/Hickory Creek. Turn left onto Turbeville Rd towards Hickory Creek. Turn left onto Point Vista Rd. After 0.5 miles, Hickory Creek Campground will be on the right.
Hickory Creek Campground is accessible via I-35E, with exit 458A providing direct access to the area. The campground is located approximately 0.5 miles from the nearest access point on Turbeville Rd.

Policies & Rules
General
- Check in starts at 3:00pm. No early check-in. You may be asked to wait OUTSIDE of park if you arrive early.
- The park gate closes at 10pm and there is no entry/re-entry until 6am. Exit gate will open in case of emergency. There is NO code for the gate. Please plan accordingly.
- No fireworks, firearms or chainsaws allowed
- No off-road vehicles allowed, including golf carts.
- Primitive sites are CLOSED at this time.
- Don't Move Firewood: Protect your forests from tree-killing pests by buying your firewood locally and burning it on-site. Visit Dontmovefirewood.org for further information.
- Campers are alloted 14 days in a 30 day period. Without authorization ANY attempts to circumvent system such as but not limited to changing reservation details may result in the revocation of any current and or future reservations.
- Pets must be on a physical restraint no longer than 6ft at all times. Pets may not be left unattended or unsupervised at any time. This includes being left outside on restraint while you're in your tent/camper/rv.
- STOP THE SPREAD OF INVASIVE SPECIES. Remove plants, seeds, animals, and mud from boots, gear, pets, and vehicles. Clean your gear before entering and leaving the recreation site. Stay on designated roads and trails, and follow local guidelines for firewood. CLEAN, DRAIN, DRY boats and any other recreational equipment that contacts water.
