The Retreat RV & Camping Resort

We had such a wonderful stay at The Retreat RV & Campground on Styx River! The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. It’s a great, family-friendly spot with a relaxed atmosphere and plenty of space to enjoy quality time together. We had a great time and can’t wait to come back!

Y'all, DON'T pass this wonderful place up! This little slice of heaven is tucked away in the country on an extension of Lake Houston, but still not far from stores, restaurants, etc. It's very peaceful and charming with a lot of amenities such as a laundry facility, putt putt, volleyball court, bark park, kayak rentals, fishing, live music, events for adults and kids, and much more! If you don't have an RV, no problem! They've got cabin rentals, tent sites and even covered wagons! The staff are welcoming and really do want you to have the best stay possible. They even have a secured gate entrance/exit and nightly patrols to ensure everyone's safety. I couldn't have felt more relaxed, comfortable and safe and I WILL be coming back! Thank you to everyone, especially Rachel and Bruce, for your hospitality!

We stayed in our camper so can’t leave a review for the rooms. It’s an excellent campground with kayak rentals, fishing from the pier, swimming pool and hot tub, pickle ball, putt putt golf and other activities. Practically brand new place, looks great. Half price special right now for only $26 a night. Unheard of price! Very safe, gated campground. Also the town itself is safe. We are from the area.

To start, the staff is kind and helpful at every turn. The campground itself is clean and well maintained. The amenities will create family memories for a lifetime. The location is great, close to great food and bars. We had a great time and can’t wait to go back.

We love this place! We've been 3 times now. The staff is amazing and the property is well kept. Restroom facilities are super clean and private. Booking is easy and it's not too far from home, but tucked far enough away from the hustle and bustle. This last stay, we enjoyed the chuck wagon fit with AC, COFFEE MAKER, MINI FRIDGE, AND MICROWAVE on the lake. Kayaking is peaceful and the entertainment was awesome. Give it a shot. It's a nice getaway!
