Very nice camping place for a weekend. The lake is beautiful. They do have electricity and clean bathrooms with hot showers.

We were a bit apprehensive about camping here after reading some reviews. But, we were greeted by a friendly host. Our host was not around until we were leaving. He was very engaging and encouraged us to come back. The camping area was very clean. It was really quiet. Everyone was very friendly. We will return.

We were at site 8, and it was roomy and perfect! We drove around the park to scout out where our next spot would be, and we realized that the entire park is amazing. The sites are spread out nicely, and it’s all tree covered. It’s like a state park - but better because it’s less crowded and quiet! Our site was perfectly level, and we had no problem reaching all the hookups. There isn’t a water view from this loop, but the trees and seclusion were perfect. Loved everything about it!

From Huntsville, Texas, take I-45 to mile marker 103, New Waverly exit, and go to the first stop sign. Do not turn; stay straight on the feeder until you reach the stop sign at FM 1375. Turn right (west) on FM 1375. The Sam Houston District Office...
From Huntsville, Texas, take I-45 to mile marker 103, New Waverly exit, and go to the first stop sign. Do not turn; stay straight on the feeder until you reach the stop sign at FM 1375. Turn right (west) on FM 1375. The Sam Houston District Office is on the right approximately 2.5 mi west of I-45. Cagle Recreation Area is approximately 6 mi west of I-45 and approximately 3 mi west of the District Office on the left hand side of FM 1375.
From Conroe, Texas, take I-45 to mile marker 102, New Waverly exit, and go to the first stop sign. Turn left (west) on FM 1375. The Sam Houston District Office is on the right approximately 2.5 mi west of I-45. Cagle Recreation Area is approximately 6 mi west of I-45 and approximately 3 mi west of the District Office on the left hand side of FM 1375.
