We enjoyed the park very much! Small but very pleasant park to camp right inside Sam Houston National Park encompassing the northern portion of Lake Conroe. Boat ramp can be very busy since it’s a popular spot for fishing. Day use should be significantly improved with shaded covers and more tables. Nice short hiking trails for leisure hikes. You can also take the 96-mile Lonestar Trail if more challenges are your thing. Great campsites with excellent views including great sunsets! Extra parking carved out on road next to most sites for boat trailer, extra vehicle, etc. Picnic tables and benches are metal, big and strong. Many sites closest to water shoreline have strong slopes. Restrooms are old but most of the time cleaned regular. They should be renovated. Full hookup is really nice, but water faucets at each site should be farther away from the sewer dump port. At least, water faucets should be raised high enough for water filter cartridges to not touch the dirt when short flex hose sections are used (commonly). No or very poor cell phone service. Overall, highly recommended for nature camping.

Park was beautiful and the site was paved and spacious. The trees were so majestic. Just wishing they had a fishing pier since they advertise fishing as an activity.
