The boat dock is very nice. The washrooms super close to our tent site and relatively clean (not the cleanest I've seen in terms of shower stalls). A lot of spiders, like 30-40 counted at night. Found a cute frog while showering lol. When I was there the 2nd time, burn ban was in effect :( even though it just rained that morning.

We have visited the Cagle Recreation Area several times now. Every visit has been great and this recent visit continues to be wonderful. The park was well maintained and everything worked perfectly.

We always loved the campground at Cagle and we enjoyed our stay this time as well.
However, the ladies bathroom was not acceptable this time. The faucet in the sink didn't stay on at all when pressing and it was impossible to use both hands to wash your face and keep the water running at the same time. When pressing the tap, the water shot out and sprayed in all directions.

Turn right (west) on FM 1375. The Sam Houston District Office is on the right approximately 2.5 mi west of I-45. Cagle Recreation Area is approximately 6 mi west of I-45 and approximately 3 mi west of the District Office on the left hand side of FM 1375.

Cagle Recreation Area is accessible via I-45, with the New Waverly exit providing access to FM 1375, which leads directly to the campground approximately 6 miles west of the interstate.
