Great spot on the hill; parked our boat near the ramp. Not a lot of breeze here, but good for June camping. Pretty good shade.

We are new to camping so I don’t have a lot to compare this experience with, however slot A08 was very enjoyable! Very shaded which was nice in 100+ degree heat. Right on the water and our kids could access it through some weeds. We were lucky that there were actually very few mosquitoes! Boat launch is close, although we didn’t bring our PWC this time. Will definitely go back!

We are new to camping so I don’t have a lot to compare this experience with, however slot A08 was very enjoyable! Very shaded which was nice in 100+ degree heat. We enjoyed our trip to Pat Mayse West. Beautiful October weather and super nice camp host. Our spot (A11) was perfect for watching the sunrise on the lake.

A hidden gem in NE Texas. This campground is a bit neglected in terms of mowing and road maintenance, but E and W worked, most bathrooms were clean, and it was peaceful when I was there. I enjoyed gorgeous sunsets and plenty of shorebirds to watch.

From Paris, TX, take HWY 271 north for 12 mi to FM 906 W, then 4 mi to FM 197. Turn west for 3 mi to CR 35810, turn left 1 mi to CR 35800, then left into the park.
Highway access
The campground is accessible via HWY 271, which is the nearest major road, located approximately 12 miles south from Paris, TX.

- This area was a military artillery range in the 1940s; Report any ordinance to the park rangers or 911 if found.
- Entrance gate opens and closes; vehicles may leave at any time but cannot enter until the following morning
