Check-in and check-out were great. Weather was windy and rainy on Saturday. Visted Treasure Trove in Hugo. They have a antique treasures and unique finds along with homemade goodies.

Everyone we met were friendly and helpful. It was peaceful, quiet and the kids enjoyed getting to play in the water by our campsite! We will definitely be back!

We love Pat Mayse west. The gate attendant was super! Campsites are spacious plu the lake is beautiful. One suggestion the boat dock needs float replace on far left corner plus bumper pads need replaced.

Main complaints are roads to Lake are terrible and men’s bathroom, I’m told was so full that they couldn’t use it. That is not good at all.
Over all we enjoy our times while there.
Gate personnel are wonderful.

Map is difficult to use to find a good space. A lack of flush toilets and showers near campground B needs addressed. Where the showers and flush toilets are is not stated in description of campsites. Sites in B are all sloped. Others had trailers maxed out on lift on one end and other as low as possible and still not level.

We were there to get away and relax. We enjoyed watching birds and enjoying being outdoors.

Campground clean and well kept. Campgrounds were packed for memorial weekend. Power and water worked. Also we used the showers on A-loop and they worked great. Great stay overall.

From Paris, TX, take HWY 271 north for 12 miles to FM 906 W, then 4 miles to FM 197. Turn west for 3 miles to CR 35810, turn left 1 mile to CR 35800, then left into the park.
The campground is accessible via HWY 271, which is the nearest major road, located approximately 12 miles south from Paris, TX.

- Entrance gate opens and closes; vehicles may leave at any time but cannot enter until the following morning
