This was our first time camping and wanting to do a test run before fully committing to the hobby. We loved the fact it was only 20 min from our house and was easily accessible in the event we forgot to bring anything. The campsites were marked and private. This campground is dog friendly which was perfect allowing our dogs to enjoy this time as well. The only minor complaint was that it is next to a busy road and plenty of houses so you were able to hear cars, parties, and a ton of dogs. Wasn't major for us but something to note for those looking to completely detach. There is one porta potty on site for the entire campground but plenty of nature to take care of business. Highly recommend bug spray as mosquitos were out in full force. Sunscreen is nice to have but not a necessity with all the shade provided by the trees. Overall, highly recommend for those wanting a quick getaway while not feeling stranded or remote!

Beautiful scenery, good sized site. In the woods, but close enough to civilization in case you forget something. Great communication with owner. Will definitely return during fall or winter.

This place is so perfect for the first time campers and those who just need to commune with nature. They have sites that are right off the trail and some tucked into the site. All sites provide natural shade and have stone fire pits!! Just be sure, like with any outdoor activity, to have bug spray. The mosquitos are not bad but they are there. But all the trails and wildflowers are just wonderful. Definitely coming back with my kids!!!

This was an awesome find. Traveling thru needed a place to camp so we could visit downtown San Antonio. Found Lost Woods thru Hipcamp. The details in the add describe exactly what this campground is. A primitive camping spot, yet close to many attractions. We stayed 4 days here and it was wonderful. Piece and quiet, little road noise to be expected as we're in town but once you drive thru it's like being in the backwoods. James was a great host. Checked on us and it was a pleasure meeting him. If you enjoy primitive camping (no hookups, water, etc), but yet close to the city this is the place. Very fair and reasonably priced. Thanks James.

Myself, 3 kids and my sister camped here for 2 nights. I have to say it was beautiful! The campsite was large, private and clean. It fit our 12 person tent, changing room/shower tent, tables chairs etc. And even had a great little tree are that my kiddos loved to hang out in. The best part for me was all of the hiking paths. We spent nearly all our time here exploring the beautiful campgrounds, sometimes with several very friendly goats trailing after us, which if you ask my kiddos was deffinately the best. We even found a beautiful clearing with a tire swing! The owner was friendly and very helpful! He greeted us at our campsite and made sure we had what we needed. If you enjoy "roughing it" without needing to drive hours outside of San antonio I would highly recommend you try this campground! By sunday my kids were begging to return again next weekend. And I know we will deffinately be back soon!
