What Guests Are Saying
Rocky Creek Park at Lake Somerville is a well-maintained campground featuring beautiful lake views from every site, spacious areas for camping, and a peaceful environment perfect for relaxation. The staff is friendly and the facilities, including the RV dump station, are well-kept, making it a great destination for nature lovers. While some visitors noted issues with the cleanliness of the bathrooms and the presence of sticker burrs, the overall experience is highly positive, with many guests eager to return.

I love this park. there are a couple of sections to chose from. I stayed at site 59 on the water. Nice site. There was a low droning sound across the water that went on 24/7 but was ok. Lots of area on the park roads to walk or ride. There are a lot of deer that come out at nite. There also is a nice trail about 3 miles long that is good for walking or big tire a bike. Brenham is a 30min drive for anything you may need.

In January there are many sites with great views. The deer were fun to watch when we were walking through the park or sitting at our site.

Excellent camping experience. Restrooms and showers were clean, although we didn’t use the showers. Excellent power and great water pressure. Had good phone signal on AT&T and Verizon. We camped in a 43’ Class A motorhome. Roads coming in were good.

We had a great stay at Rocky Creek, although the weather didn't cooperate. When we arrived, we were told the water would be shut off in a couple of days due to a storm coming through. The campground is beautiful on the lake. The sites are spacious. There was plenty of room for our 28' RV and 18' trailer without unhooking the trailer. The showers could use a deep cleaning. We visited the Texas Cotton Mill Museum and the old Simon Theater in Burton. Very interesting. There's a fun little Cafe in Round Top called Royers Cafe with great food, service and interesting decor.

This is quickly becoming our favorite local campground. Always clean, mowed and well care for. Volunteer staff is amazing. They are friendly and very helpful. Love the trails to hike and the view of the lake from all the campsites.

The park was fantastic though the top of my RV hit 3 trees. My RV is 13.5 feet high.

I was blown away at how clean this whole area was. Granted I came in the winter when only a few were around, but it was still very impressive how often we saw people cleaning the bathrooms. The grounds were immaculate too. I was highly impressed with the hosts who helped me pick a campsite to best fit my needs when I called in. All were incredibly friendly and helpful from check in to check out. I really look forward to coming back as the weather warms up and hope to find it just as enjoyable

Beautiful area and pretty views of the lake, no matter where. Nicely paved roads. Very clean bathrooms and showers. We were in a crushed gravel drive...it was fine. Very spacious sites. Even got views of deer every day at dusk.
