What Guests Are Saying
Rocky Creek Park at Lake Somerville is a well-maintained campground featuring beautiful lake views from every site, spacious areas for camping, and a peaceful environment perfect for relaxation. The staff is friendly and the facilities, including the RV dump station, are well-kept, making it a great destination for nature lovers. While some visitors noted issues with the cleanliness of the bathrooms and the presence of sticker burrs, the overall experience is highly positive, with many guests eager to return.

This was our first time staying at Rocky Creek and we already cannot wait to come back! We got a spot right on the water by the boat ramp, which was perfect for our camper and boat. The location could not be beat - a nice beach-like entry to the lake, well-maintained grounds, and a well-equipped campsite. The price was reasonable and the staff were friendly. We had a wonderful time and are so happy to have found this gem!

Really enjoyed the park & the lake….felt very safe on the water in the boat & even swimming in the water. All the staff working the park were WONDERFUL & so friendly & helpful!!
The only down side was the restrooms…too many spiders, webs, bugs & birds. The doors had to stay open to circulate the air (no air conditioning). Brought wipes to clean toilet seats & the sinks. Enjoyed the hot shower!!!
Will definitely go back..hopefully soon!!!

Beautiful scenery. We saw lots of deer The staff was great. The amenities were adequate. They do have a bug problem in the restroom but easy to deal with. I wish they would add another dump station. But overall We highly recommend Rocky Creek.

Our site was great. The only thing is that we always like to fish and our neighbor had jet skis that they parked right in front of our space and beside where we could go fishing at INSTEAD of in front of THEIR space. We were afraid we would hook their skis or even them as they would just lay out in the water beside them. We could not move over in the other direction as it was too grassy to go fishing in that area. IF they would have been a little more considerate it all would have been great. Everything else was great though! Hosts were great, weather , grounds and site were all super!

Took my six children camping and had an amazing time! Perfect distance from the water and plenty of shade! Restrooms and shower was kept clean the entire stay. Wouldn’t recommend placing your tent under the trees unless you’re ok with spiders on everything but otherwise everything was perfect!

There was good spacing between sites. Very quiet. Camp workers/volunteers very friendly. View of the lake was great and it was easy to launch kayaks and 3-person inflatable boat from shore. Lots of deer in the area. There were fire ant hills but not near our spot - recommend bringing fire any treatment just in case. picnic table and cover were well-maintained. Bathrooms need to be cleaned better though. This was the one bad experience.

Nice spot but the tree needs some lower branches removed. My antenna was stuck in the branch so i couldnt rotate it to get a good signal.

Rocky Creek is one of our favorite parks. The sites are large and fairly level in the many different ones we’ve stayed and well maintained.
The only bad thing we must report because it is quite important to many campers is the cleanliness of the restrooms. We came in on Sunday afternoon and no one had been to clean until we were leaving on Friday. The bugs and spiderwebs that had accumulated made it appear they hadn’t been cleaned in weeks. When we left on Friday we complained to the park hosts at the front gate and one of the men made a smart remark about waiting until the winter time to come camping so the bugs won’t be so bad. We’ve honestly never seen a park host at this park ever even pick up a scrap of trash. Their job descriptions should be posted in multiple locations so people know what we should expect of them.
Maybe being cordial and helpful is not on their list along with maintaining a clean restroom.
