What Guests Are Saying
Rocky Creek Park at Lake Somerville is a well-maintained campground featuring beautiful lake views from every site, spacious areas for camping, and a peaceful environment perfect for relaxation. The staff is friendly and the facilities, including the RV dump station, are well-kept, making it a great destination for nature lovers. While some visitors noted issues with the cleanliness of the bathrooms and the presence of sticker burrs, the overall experience is highly positive, with many guests eager to return.

Great camp sites, one of the nicest parks in the State of Texas. Thanks for all the hard work.

we arrived at the park about 11:30 AM on May 28, 2022 and was unable to go into the park to our campsite even though there was no one camping there. This has never been the case previously, I understand and read the policy that check in time is 3:00 PM, but as a courtesy to people traveling from out of town we would have been allowed to park our camper and go to another city to pick up our boat for the weekend. But no exception was made, we parked our camper at another location, just to be able to save time to go get our boat. Leaving our travel trailer in jeopardy were it could have possible been stolen or hit by another vehicle. We feel we should have been allowed to at least park our camper someone inside of the park even if we were not allowed to park on our reserved site.

Staff is great but beyond me why COE will not take care of Federal parks. We seem to have federal money for everything except taking care of our parks.

The BBQ pit at our site, #80, was not good. The lid doesn’t close so the pit never would get to the temperature we needed it to be.

Overall we had a good time. The weather did not corporate, the first 3 days is was extremely windy then we had cool fronts moving thru which created lighting and high winds. The park itself was very nice as always. We stayed in #66 the first 3 days and this site has no shade at all. I would like to see the park start planting more trees to help reduce direct sun. Bathrooms were clean. Park staff very friendly as always.

Our stay at Rocky Creek was amazing. The attendants at check in were very accommodating and friendly. The park sites and bathrooms were very clean. Our view and location couldn't have been better. It was quiet and very peaceful. We are definitely going back again soon!!

We loved it and had a great time. Just wish you had sewer hookups at campsites or more dump stations because there was long line to wait.
