What Guests Are Saying
Rocky Creek Park at Lake Somerville is a well-maintained campground featuring beautiful lake views from every site, spacious areas for camping, and a peaceful environment perfect for relaxation. The staff is friendly and the facilities, including the RV dump station, are well-kept, making it a great destination for nature lovers. While some visitors noted issues with the cleanliness of the bathrooms and the presence of sticker burrs, the overall experience is highly positive, with many guests eager to return.

Very clean well kept park, clean restrooms. Easy to get around in a 40’ motor. Beautiful park, lots of large oaks with Spanish Moss hanging from the branches.

Nice well kept large spaces. Only complaint would be the way the sites are numbered. Confusing so check the electric box to make sure you are in the correct space.

Facilities were kept up and clean. The overall park has continually declined over the past several years. The volunteers at the front check-in building were present to greet you on the day you arrived and to provide you with a combination lock to the gate for entrance after 10:00 PM. However, once you were checked in, they locked the front gate and left the guard shack. Every time you left the park, you had to unlock and relock the gate no matter what time of day. I found this a little comical due to the fact that there were approximately 10 park hosts spots that were all occupied by people camping for free, but there were no volunteers to be found unless they were expecting a guest at check - in.

The campground was very neat and well maintained..out site was on the water with a beautiful view..the campground was not crowded and the sites were large..we had a couple of days of really cold and windy weather but made the best of it..there was lots to do in the surrounding area and we had a great time

Showers were excellent, plenty of hot water, plenty of hooks to hang your items and a nice bench, all inside the shower. The sites were large with plenty of room. Lots of dear everywhere in the park. The downside was it looked to be abandoned most of the campsites were closed and off limits. The landscape was overgrown and lots of burs in the grass. Would I stay again… yes

Clean and beautiful park. Nice and helpful park hosts. Quiet during the week. Clean and warm bathhouses. Our favorite Texas park!
