Instead of the peaceful, relaxing weekend we had planned, we spent it listening to a group of campers next to us playing music and talking loud enough for the entire park to hear them. I made a comment to them about not coming to camp at a college bar. They toned it down some, but they were still way too noisy. Other parks we have been to have a host that helps you when you arrive and also makes sure the rules are followed. If there was one here, we never saw them. If there is a problem, who do you tell? A lot of things have changed since COVID, so maybe the lack of personnel available is related to that. Also, if the sound of train horns bothers you, this is not the place for you. Nearby there is a train relay station so there are train horns blowing off and on, day and night. It is really too bad that is was so noisy because this park is a beautiful place in the trees with a view of the lake. I do want to thank the maintenance man who showed us where our spot. It was a difficult spot to get into and harder at night. It wasn't his job but he was kind enough to help us find our spot and direct us while we were backing in. We very much appreciated his help! He gets a 5-star rating.

Nice park well kept! Very quiet and peaceful, beautiful view of the lake from most spaces. Very nice boat ramp and parking. Spaces are very large, even for very large RV’s
(40ft toy hauler and dual wheel pickup) definitely come back again!

This park is great. Scenery is beautiful, wildlife abundant, and the fishing is hot. Lots or roomy sites and 50amp service. Really saved the day for us as a winter storm hit one evening and sent temperatures in the 20’s. I will return.

Park was very nice. Only one hiking trail and it was damaged at the midpoint without warning. Had to backtrack and take the other fork to finish. Would have been nice if this damage was advised on the entrance kiosk as the damage was aged and not recent.
Abundant wildlife and the fishing was very good.

Great camping with plenty of waterfront spots! Kayaking and fishing the lake was a blast and there were dozens of deer throughout the campground. Picnic tables and grill were great. Wish the fire pit had a grill grate on it but I think there were other spots that did have this feature if it's a must have.

Been camping at Lake Somerville since the 70'2. For a core park sites are fairly close together. Properly maintained. Friendly staff. They have a 3pm check-in time which maybe enforced?? If site is open why not allow early check-in?
Not to far from Brenham restaurants, big box shopping and Blue Bell creamy. There are other sites close by like Round Top, Independence and of course blue bonnets in the spring.

Great time for New Years. First time in 5 years was able to be in shorts and flip flops. 78 degrees Saturday until 6 pm and 42 degrees at 10: pm. Only in Texas! LOL

Very quiet park. Most sites appear to have good lake views. We’ll kept.
