Muleshoe Bend Recreation Area

Went there to take pictures with the Blue bonnets and it was worth the drive! You pay a little fee to enter (5$). Our family pictures turned out amazing ♡ we came with our picnic and stayed a little longer, there is a few tables and toilets, also you can park easily, I appreciated the fact that it wasn't crowded. The golden hour for the pic is around 6:30pm. I would recommend to take a mini mat to kneel on it for the photo shoot, because it is rather spicky underneath the flower bed, and don't forget your water.

Our first time out to Muleshoe and it did not disappoint. It wasn’t too busy this morning, probably because of the rain, which made it even better.
There were nice shaded camping spots and boat ramp access.

We went for the bluebonnets. Wow! Massive fields with big blooms We take bluebonnet pictures every year, but I’ve never actually noticed their smell before. Not sure if it was the fresh rain or just how many were in bloom, but it was amazing.

Definitely worth the drive to see them! Just a friendly reminder—please be careful and don’t trample the bluebonnets for photos. There are plenty of areas to walk through without damaging them.

Great for Mountain Biking and Hiking. Blue Bonnet fields during April is amazing. Very vast fields filled with Blue Bonnets in full bloom. Dog friendly park. Lots of marked areas for camping at different spots throughout the park. A nice getaway close to nature which is only an hour away from Austin in the beautiful Hill Country.

Beautiful area to spend quality time with friends and families. I mostly visited this place to see the texas wildflowers. This year the bloom is only 40-60% but still there were patches of bluebonnet and Indian paintbrush. It was beautiful, I think when it blooms 100% then it will look massive. You can drive your vehicle all the way to the river bank and have a picnic. There are picnic tables with grills. Washrooms are tidy and neat. There are many RV hookups available and you can camp here too. There is a ticket $5 per vehicle. It's beautiful I may visit this place again if I can.
