Spent two nights tenting in Sunset campground. The site was a good size with both open and shaded spaces but not very private. The restroom was very clean, there was no hand soap so bring your own. The fire pit and grate were in good shape and nice for cooking. Arrived around 6pm on a Thursday and there was no wood at the camp store, got some at Ruby’s and it was good wood. The close proximity to the shuttle stops is a bonus and a great feature of the park.

I was so impressed with this campsite. We had a large group of 30. There’s a paved driveway and large circular pad that can accommodate several vehicles. We parked 5 trucks and a small bus comfortably. Vehicles must be parked on the pavement. We sent up 10 tents and there was plenty of room for everyone to have a nice flat spot. The campground has plenty of shade and we felt separated from the other campsites. There was only one fire ring and it was about 2 ft in diameter with a grill top. It was too small for a group as large as ours to sit around and feel the warmth. The facility has 2 bathrooms marked men’s and women’s. The bathrooms were spacious, clean and well maintained. The bathrooms are private to the campsite (but other campers and random people tried to sneak up and use them). Each bathroom had multiple toilets and 2 sinks and an electrical outlet. The building also has a small room on the back with a sink for washing dishes. It was clean and had hot and cold water. The setting was beautiful and peaceful. In June we had almost zero problems with bugs, maybe just a few flies. We were within walking distance (5 minutes ) of sunset point and amazing canyon views but from the campsite itself you cannot see the canyon. The bike path that traverses the park and a shuttle station are right by the campsite . There are large dumpsters at the campground entrance for your trash. The only downside was a group of very annoying birds starting non-stop loud piercing chirping every morning at 5 AM. Bring earplugs. The camp hosts were great about laying out the campsite rules clearly right when we arrived and then giving us great advice about the park and hiking. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. It was a great experience.

Campground was nice, but there was not room to park a tow vehicle in addition to a small trailer at many sites. We left a day early because we were bored.

Beautiful site amid trees and birds. Lots of flying bugs though. Camp hosts were nice. No formal check in or check out. Sites were very close together so boundaries between were unclear.

Great location for setting off on hikes. Generally quiet although one night there was a loud party going late and no good way to contact the rangers.
