Highly recommend! Site is located down the street from the visitor center and across the street from the canyon. Accessible bathrooms with a wash station and dump.

I was very lucky to get a site the day they (re)Opened. Campe sites are plenty big enough and so close to what you need. Bathroom was exceptionally clean, and I appreciated the fresh water refill station next to the bathroom facility.
The welcome center and busses to the trails are a conveniently short walk away and they're are trails right off the camp location too. Beautiful spot to camp!
Oh, and the Rangers were so kind and helpful!!

We enjoyed a wonderful stay at Sunset with one exception. We have a motorhome and tow a vehicle for camping mobility. The camp host came by and told us the rules. The tow vehicle must be on the pavement, and not in the road. It would fit if we parked slightly on the gravel, but this was not allowed. We understand this and asked where the overflow parking is. They told us it was at the visitor center. Well the visitor center is over a half mile away and has little security. They suggested we rent another camp site to park the car. We rented multiple sites over the next few days. After being around the camp, we discovered a overflow parking area very close which was blocked with no parking signs. The host said it was closed and I asked why, because we saw no usage of the area by workers. Host did nothing. Then a different host took over. We asked him and he checked and wrote us a parking permit to use the overflow lot on the last days, but it was two late to cancel. So we paid for 4 nights just to park the tow car. There was also ample parking just up from us at the host parking area, but they would not let us do that either. Hosts are hired to help visitors have an enjoyable time. Walking a half mile every time you want your car is not helping. There was only a few campers with a tow car. I would like a refund of the four different sites for the tow car. What a hassle, moving to different sites every night. Making sure the car was moved before hiking plans could be enjoyed. Hosts are for reducing negatives. Spending hours working with reservations was a real hassle. Please refund the 4 daily sites we paid for. Thank you.
