What Guests Are Saying

Spruces Campground offers a serene and beautiful setting with well-maintained facilities, including flush toilets and potable water, particularly in the lower loop. Campers appreciate the spaciousness and privacy of the sites, especially spot 7, which many guests found charming and well-equipped. While some noted issues like decreasing lake levels and confusion over campsite numbering, the overall experience is enhanced by a friendly camp host and the campground's picturesque surroundings, encouraging repeat visits.

The camp host was awesome!! So friendly and kind. Spoke with him for an hour about all the improvements they're making at this campground.

Zero amenities in the area.
Not enough room at any tent sites for a smaller sized tent, and ground wasn't level at all.
Original site was under construction without prior notice.
Could not even camp for more than a few hours.

Beautiful campgrounds and campsites! Because we were early in the season and spring was still hanging around we had colder than average temps, no available water in the campground, and many of the sites were still closed. We still enjoyed it (except for the cold and snow) and had a campsite with an amazing view of the lake.

This campsite was amazing. The host was so nice and kept the bathrooms so clean. The national Forest service and recreation.gov need to get it together though. Forestry came in and redid the lower level of this campsite which was great but they also renumbered the sites. So now the site I reserved based off the location on recreation.gob’s website and some other photos I found not on this website, is no longer that same location. The site needs to be updated because the site did not work for our family and luckily there were open sites that the camp host accommodated us in. Forestry and recreation.gov need to fix this before next year as I was not the only one affected.

The campground is absolutely breathtaking, the sites are all very well-kept. This seasons camp host was so helpful and friendly, and he always stopped by to say hi to my family and I. We're already planning for next season!

We adored Craig (camphost) !! He is wonderful. He helped us find our site, he was available when we needed firewood and was informative about the surrounding area for exploring. The area was clean and the bathrooms were a pleasure to use. Will definitely be back.

Our only issue was I paid to reserve a spot and when we got up there there was someone else's name on our spot and the spot didn't exactly match the websites description size wise and the table was pretty beat up. This was for the upper loop. So we went to the lower loop and found a vacant spot and camped there. The campsites in the lower loop are super nice though and we're great! Beautiful view also. Just not sure about the reservation mix up and description for the campsite space online

John was very helpful in directing us to our sites (the numbering had changed).
New campsites were very nice (concrete pad, picnic table, fire pit, etc.)
Disappointed there was no water or restroom facilities available.
Would be nice to have a campground host on site to assist with the following:
No firewood was available to purchase.
Dogs running all over the campground with no leashes. They came into our site several times where our dogs were either tied or in a kennel.
There is no telling the disposition of large running dogs and our dogs were agitated from it.
Generators running all night.
We have stayed at Panguitch Campground three times this year and those were very pleasant experiences.....this one not so much.

Campsites have been reorganized and renumbered. There was no email letting us know about this change. Water restrictions were in place. Again, no email letting us know about this. We changed to the new double site #4 but had to pay again for the new site (in addition to what we had paid with the reservation). Poor coordination between the campsite management at Spruces and Recreation.gov.
