What Guests Are Saying
Aspen (UT) offers a beautiful and peaceful camping experience with stunning views and spacious, private sites. The campground's reservation process is efficient, although better communication about reserved sites would improve the experience. While there are some concerns about rule enforcement, noisy neighbors, and issues with livestock, the overall atmosphere is enjoyable, and amenities like fire pits and river access add to the appeal.

Excellent view, and stay. This site didn't have a big enough spot for our ten man tent so we used the parking pad. But it still had plenty of room for.our full sized van. The view was amazing and the river access was great, very cold.water. We stayed in July 2024 and it was 105* I. The city and only 80-85* peak of the day, and dropped into the 40s* overnight. The water pumps were off during our stay. Hanna, Ut is about 8 miles away and has a.few little shops to get supplies if you need anything. We will absolutely stay that this campground again.

This campground is very nice. Visited mid-June 2024 on a W-F trip.
Sites are nicely spaced and have adequate tree screening between sites, although our site, #014 had no afternoon shade. The fire pits are very nice. As described, there is no water available, but there are several secured dumpsters for trash. The vault toilets were clean.
There was lots of signage about being in a bear area, but no bear boxes to secure food and toiletries.

We used this group campsite for Girls Camp. The group site is located away from the other campsites so it was nice and private with plenty of parking. Some things we loved about it was that it was located so close to the river. It's only a 2 minute walk on the trail and you're there. We used it for a lot of water activities. We enjoyed the two firepits. One was big enough for a couple Dutch ovens, the other was great for roasting smores by the tables. There is a good amount of shade for tents in the center, and a large open area (unshaded) for others. Some things we didn't love. There are huge rocks in place where you park campers, so we had to maneuver over them so we didn't scrape the bottom of our vehicles or camper. We didn't understand why theses were there. We didn't really see much room to fit another two campers unless you back them in one by one. That would then eliminate the availability of the horseshoe pits that are in the path. The outhouse is large with men's and women's, and located 100 yards away. The downside is it was completely full which attracted a lot of bugs, and was not pleasant to use. The garbage trailer is also located next to the outhouse with closed lids so that was helpful to have it so close. Overall, we really liked the campsite. We went repelling up the canyon, and the cave is also nearby. The view is absolutely stunning.

Things were awesome. The 1 thing that needs to be fixed is to change the table in unit 15 it is too low to the ground. We were not able to use the table at all!!!!

Aspen CG is very nice for dry camping. The location on the Duschene R. Is the best feature. The campsites were well maintained, and included picnic table and fire ring. Campsite spacing is adequate. Basic necessities can be found nearby at Defa’s Dude Ranch, and the Stockmore Ranger Station, although closed, has water available for your rv tank.

Site number 4 has no trees and the table and camp fire ring is roughly about 15 ft from the restroom. With the breeze in the wrong direction, it's not a good time. There are minimal trees in this spot. I'd recommend almost any other site in this campground.

Water was too high to fish.
Otherwise very pleasant and quiet

Great place to stay. However, it would be nice to have water and electricity on site

Nice clean camp - Mike the park manager was super helpful. Other campers very nice and friendly. We went up to Grandview trailhead and hiked to Grandaddy Lake / challenging 8 Mike hike - but FABULOUS!
