What Guests Are Saying
Iron Mine offers a beautiful and spacious campsite, well-shaded and set in a peaceful atmosphere near a stunning river. While some campers experienced issues with site leveling and noise from nearby activities, the overall environment is appreciated for its rustic charm and ample space between sites. Improvements are needed, such as better maintenance of facilities and clearer reservation postings, but many guests enjoyed their stay and expressed a desire to return.

Beautiful and spacious campsite. It’s well shaded and quiet. We had to use several blocks to level our trailer, but it was workable.
The rear of the campsite is boarded by a wire fence, probably to keep cattle from wandering into the campground.
I wish the camp host would have posted our reservation (our last name on the post) like they do at some campgrounds. When we arrived, someone was on our campsite thinking it was a first come first serve sight. We worked it out, but had to wait 30 min for them to move, and it could have been prevented had our reservation been posted.

Great campsite next to a beautiful river. Very rustic toilet situation and no campground host that we could find to take care of the noisy group campers.

The camp ground is full of trees, right at the base of the mountains, very nice. Our spot, #5, was not ideal. It was basically a pull off right along side, parallel to the road and not very level. The camp sites are very dusty, they need gravel layed out all around the fire pit and picnic tables. Between the three campgrounds in that area, there’s not one dump station. Also, we noticed that some of the cattle guards in the road going to the campground are busted up. Be careful driving over them with your trailer.

The area is beautiful and usually peaceful however there were campers that allowed their children to ride their 4 wheelers around and around and around the campground. These children appeared to all be very young as well. Also some decided to repeatedly fire off their weapon close by. Gone are the days campers are respectful to others and the environment.

We loved the site. However a dog off leash attached our dog and family.

Been camping here for decades. Seeing some wear and tear like tables needing repair or replacement but over all campsite was good. Would have liked to have had a cement fire pit but smaller metal was OK. Could have done without pistol target practice shooting nearby. Too close to campground and scared the kids. Is this practice done within the campground? If not, why is it allowed even just outside?

Very beautiful camp ground! Our fire ring in spot 002 was too close to the trees for comfort and we couldn't surround it like normal. The vault toilets ran out of paper and it wasnt replaced, but we brought our own. The site was huge and far enough away from the other sites that it didn't feel cramped like a lot of sites. I would go back, just picking a different site, as the rest had good fire pit areas.

The campground itself was ok, though cows did often walk through it. Note that site 8 is incorrectly labeled, it definitely is not a pull through, and you would struggle to get more than a single small;mid size rv in.
