What Guests Are Saying

Iron Mine offers a beautiful and spacious campsite, well-shaded and set in a peaceful atmosphere near a stunning river. While some campers experienced issues with site leveling and noise from nearby activities, the overall environment is appreciated for its rustic charm and ample space between sites. Improvements are needed, such as better maintenance of facilities and clearer reservation postings, but many guests enjoyed their stay and expressed a desire to return.

Iron Mine never fails to satisfy. A short drive from the city brings a cool, shady vacation from the heat of the summer. The campsite is always clean, even without camp hosts. Hiking and fishing are nearby, with a couple of nice reservoirs you can get to within 15 minutes. NB: the burrs are terrible this year, probably a climate thing - but they do provide you and the dog with some 1:1 time ;)

This is a beautiful campground and we definitely plan to come back many times. BUT, SITE 001 is not for faint of heart. We are experienced campers with a 27ft travel trailer and it took us almost an hour and a half to get our rig leveled. This site is not level and has many ruts that make it super difficult to set up our trailer. It is also right next to the road, so you will have to deal with traffic 4-6ft from your front door.

Again, we definitely plan to return... BUT NOT IN SITE 001!!!

Dusty, loud, no privacy and a very long drive to get there (some unpaved roads). We arrived late and didn't stay the second night and we left as soon as we could the following morning. The bathrooms are dated, worn, and not clean. The campsites have plenty of room but some are on top of each other. We could have adapted, but it was so dusty that it was too much to really enjoy our time there.

Quiet and peaceful. Campsites are spaced out very well, so it’s also pretty private. Walkable to the Duchesne river. Lots of shade and trees. Dog friendly.

I truly couldn't be happier with my experience at the campground! The Cotton in the air became a nuisance mid day but of course that's just this time of year!, at times it looked like it was snowing Cotton!!
Aside from that the campground was amazing! The bathrooms were clean and did not stink!
I will definitely be returning to this campground many times to come!! 🌲🏞️👍

This place is awful. Don't come here. Crowded. Smelly.

I'm jk, we love it. But please don't come here and leave your trash. Pick up after yourself!

I have stayed in the group site for at least 7-10 nights every year for over 20 years and this is one of my families favorite places to spend time together. It has easy access to the river for children to play in, and it has potable water which occasionally tastes like chlorine after being treated and two toilets. There are so many great hiking trails nearby and plenty of picnic tables for groups of up to 30 to 40 people to sit comfortably. Be prepared for rain and bring tubes for playing in the river, chairs to enjoy the campfire and hammocks to enjoy the breeze in the trees and this could become one of your favorite camping locations as well.
In over 20 years we have had an occasional issue with the garbage can being full or the toilet paper being empty, but after letting the camp host or rangers know the problem it has always been taken care of in a reasonable amount of time. I plan to continue coming here for years to come and see no reason to look anywhere else other than the fact that getting reservations for the group site does require planning at least 1 year ahead of time since reservations are always booked as soon as the group site is available to be reserved, it has been hard to get specific dates close to the same time every year, but it has been worth making the effort.
