What Guests Are Saying
Iron Mine offers a beautiful and spacious campsite, well-shaded and set in a peaceful atmosphere near a stunning river. While some campers experienced issues with site leveling and noise from nearby activities, the overall environment is appreciated for its rustic charm and ample space between sites. Improvements are needed, such as better maintenance of facilities and clearer reservation postings, but many guests enjoyed their stay and expressed a desire to return.

Quiet area, close to the restrooms & water spigot.
Not far from Defas dude ranch & the river for fishing.

Beautiful camp site and surrounding area. Bathrooms are subpar but that is to be expected

The campground is in a beautiful area! Our site was nice, clean and very enjoyable. The ground was soft and we had a difficult time leveling the trailer due to recent rains. There were lots of cows around and in our campsite. Defa’s Dude Ranch is close by and we had a nice horse ride through the trees by the river. Would go again!

One of our favorite spots. Campsites are not too close together, lots of trees, and quiet.

Iron Mine is an isolated campground, so I didn't feel like I was surrounded by people like in many other campgrounds around the state. My kids had an enjoyable time. We had fun fishing in the river and sitting around camp. There isn't much else to do in the area that I am aware of.

Great campground. Well maintained and pretty quiet. Most sites have a slope so leveling a RV is a little tricky.

Great campground. Close to the river and peaceful. It was a little tricky getting into site 15 with our 27 foot trailer but the site across from us was empty which helped.

Even though without the knowledge that it was a 6 mile drive to the campground from the highway sometimes a bit narrow and paved off and on pulling a 5th wheel it was the greatest find ever. I almost had my husband turn around because we had no idea what to expect at the end of this long road. Once in the campground we were supposed to stay in site #7 but it was very unlevel (could have been done but a lot of work) and putting out slides was questionable with trees. We found a non reserveable site #18 and decided to stay there instead. It was a great site next to clean bathrooms. We loved our 7 day stay. We rode bikes, walked all around and the river was right across the road from us. The only thing is there were a lot of cows all around the campground which was no bother until we left for a whole day and they decided to take over our site. They were laying everywhere and had chewed several items in camp and the steps of our RV but nothing serious. Just like little children they were on their best behavior when you were around! Definitely will come back if ever in this area!
