What Guests Are Saying
Iron Mine offers a beautiful and spacious campsite, well-shaded and set in a peaceful atmosphere near a stunning river. While some campers experienced issues with site leveling and noise from nearby activities, the overall environment is appreciated for its rustic charm and ample space between sites. Improvements are needed, such as better maintenance of facilities and clearer reservation postings, but many guests enjoyed their stay and expressed a desire to return.

This campground is a little bare and dry, but if that's your thing it's ok. There is water at the campground.

Was a great getaway. Shade could be better in some sites and only a few have water sources. We had a great time anyway. Vault toilets were nice and clean for what they were.

We had a great time at Iron Mine Campground. It rained in the afternoon we got there, so the dust that a former reviewer complained about was not a problem. (Not that we would have allowed it to be a problem for us.) We were in campsite 7 which was perfect for us as we value our privacy when in a campground. The bathrooms were kept clean and in good repair, although they were a little dated. The earlier-in-the-week crowd was a nice bunch of campers; friendly but not invasive. The arriving-on-Friday crowd was a little more "millennial", but still not too bad. Our only real complaint about the campsite was that one of the benches on our table was not attached to the table and the other one was loose. Our only complaint about the campground in general is that there wasn't a host that we could find which seemed to give people license to drive too fast on the campground road and one group of young adults who were camped in the middle of the campground (at campsite 5) had a pellet gun and were target shooting with nothing too stop their missed shots from straying into other nearby campsites. We wanted to report them, but did not know how to find someone to report them to. A pellet gun may not be lethal, but it can be damaging. The irresponsibility of other campers with dogs off leash or firearms or no respect for quiet hours is not the campground's fault, but it would have been nice to have an authority figure in the area whose presence would likely curtail the rule-breaking. We loved this campground and will likely visit it again. There is also a group site that is set apart from the rest of the campground that was empty, so we explored it. It is definitely a great spot for group camping! We give Iron Mine Campground two thumbs up!

Super dusty, which what ever you're camping. Not one camper had their dogs leashed. Running all over the campground. My dog was charged and snapped at. The only dog on leash in the campground. We wont be back.
