I booked my campsite months ago and was only able to get number 4. Which is one of the worst spots there, no shade, no flat spot for a tent. But all the best spots are first come first serve and they were empty!! THIS IS SO WRONG!!! The people who take the time to book a reservation AND pay should have the choice of the better camping spots. And let the first come people get the not so great ones. This is completely back to front!!! I would like a response to this survey.
I've noticed at many other Recreation.gov campgrounds it is the same thing. Too many first come spots and they are the nicer ones.
I do like the new bathrooms.

The Iron Mine camp ground is great. Clean restroom, good water, level camp sites for RV's and good distance between various sites.

Wonderful, peaceful campground except for all the ATVs and other motorized vehicles (not allowed as per U.S. Forest Service in the campground) zooming around the campground loop. Without a camp host, this rule does not get enforced. We won’t be back thanks to the rude and inconsiderate behavior of other campers. Very noisy and dangerous.

This is a beautiful, quiet campground that feels wide open and has some sites that are very easy to pull a camp trailer into. We loved how easy it was to put up tents since there were lots of flat areas that make it easy to set everything up. However, we probably won’t camp there again and can’t recommend it because other campers (some from other campgrounds in the area) think it’s okay to ride ATVs, motorcycles, and other motorized recreational machines around and around the camp loop… very noisy and dangerous. This was mostly kids going too fast and not supervised by adults. We were constantly worried about our little kids being hit by these riders. It is clearly marked before entering the campground that only legal street vehicles are allowed, but without a camp just, this does not get enforced. Too bad, a beautiful place to stay that we cannot recommend.

I really love this area! Nice and peaceful campground with plenty to do around the area. I've camped here a few times and my family and I love it!

The new bathrooms were excellent, but the fence surrounding the campground is down in several places. This allows the cows to get into the campground and you end up with cowpies and flies everywhere. Fix the fence and it would be a great campground.
