What Guests Are Saying
Porcupine Campground is highly praised for its beautiful, secluded setting with plenty of trees and shade, as well as its proximity to Bear Lake and local attractions. Camp hosts are noted for their helpfulness, providing assistance and local information. However, there are concerns regarding unclear vehicle policies, restroom access issues, and the need for maintenance on some facilities.

This is my favorite campground by far. My only complaint is that I booked 3 spots for 2 vehicles and paid for them 5 months in advance but when I arrived, there were signs on each spot saying the 2nd vehicle would cost an additional $5. Then the host came by and stated the second vehicle would cost $5 each.

Secluded campground with easy access to Bear Lake. The bathrooms are clean, but few and far between. The camp host was friendly and helpful. Site #14 was very private but a little hard to find (you have to turn right by the bathroom at the entrance and not go around the loop)

Beautiful campground with plenty of trees and shade. Only a 15 minute drive to the Bear Lake North Beach turn off (another 10 minutes to the beach) and minutes from Minnetonka Cave. I would suggest a few fixes. Neither water spigots near site 16/17 and 14/15 were working. We needed to walk to the group site for water which made for a heavy carry back. And the water pressure at the group site was minimal at times. The lock on the vault toilet needs to be repaired. But we loved the site and would return.

Great campground. A couple places to put tents, had a metal picnic table, fire pit, and pole to hang lantern on. Pit toilet in a small building 50 feet away, along with a tap nearby, both shared with campsite 16. Flush toilets and sink are at the entrance of the campground, where the camp hosts are. A lot of things were unclear- we didn't know whether we had to verbally check in and out with the camp hosts, or if we didn't need to do anything. Also, this website says we can have two cars, and each additional car is $5, with a max of six cars. However, a small sign at our campsite said first car cost $20, and the second $5. We weren't fined to my knowledge, so I don't know if this is an old policy or not. The pit toilet nearby was also locked until the late morning of our second day, and the water was only on the second day. Maybe this was because we didn't verbally check in. Not sure. No service at the campsite as expected, and remember this is a pack in/pack out facility, NO TRASH CANS! There is a big blue public dumpster on the way there, though. Firewood for sale $8/bundle from camp hosts. Beautiful area.

Beautiful Campground.
Vault toilets well maintained.
Could use better signage to direct campers to proper reserved campsite, other than this, a 5

Lovely spot with easy access to Bear Lake. The Porcupine campground had access to drinking water, running-water toilets, and pit toilets. There is a post at every campsite to hoist a lantern on to illuminate a table. The mosquitos were relentless in the evening and morning though, which is my biggest complaint.

The water quit working at all the spigots in the campsite. Fortunately we were leaving, but not having water in the middle of the summer is a issue. Hopefully this gets repaired soon.

Potable water was shutdown for a full day when we needed it- but unknown why. Bathrooms hadn’t been cleaned in a while. Mosquitos were bad (no one’s fault)
