What Guests Are Saying
Summit View Campground offers a beautiful setting with spacious campsites and clean restrooms, making it a favored choice for many visitors. However, there has been a recurring issue with the lack of potable water for the past few years, often not communicated during reservations, which has disappointed some campers. Despite these challenges, the campground remains popular for its scenic trails and group accommodations, and some guests have appreciated responsive customer service regarding refunds.

I love this campground. The camp spots are nice, the scenery is beautiful, there are wonderful bike riding trails, and it’s easy to get to town to buy something you forgot. For the past two summers, there has been no water in the campground. Last year, that was clearly indicated on the reservation website. I did not see it this year. Also new this year was a camp host who ran their generator three straight days while we were there, starting early in the morning and running well past 10 pm. If that annoys you, I recommend not staying here.

We always enjoy staying at Summit View Campground, we have done his for several years. There is not water available and no garbage dumpster for you to put your garbage. You have to bring extra water in with you and take your garbage out.

Would have been better if the amphitheater was in better condition

This is a great campground which will be even better when the water availability is restored. This is the second year with no water available at the campground with no advance notice. This year there was no campground host on site, so the restrooms didn't get the attention they needed. Individual camp sites were available at half price to mitigate the fact that there was no water, but advance notice of this would allow people to prepare in advance of going there. Trails for 4 wheelers, mountain bikes, trail bikes or side by sides were wonderful as usual and one can ride for hours in beautiful surroundings. Four wheelers, etc. can be parked in the camp sites which is wonderful. Huckleberries are even available in some places. It is a half hour trip to Bear Lake where water related activities is are plentiful. The group sites would be far better if they were combined into one site. Nearly all of the individual camp sites are adaptable to a good camping experience.

I originally was quite frustrated with having no water upon arrival and still paying full price. I contacted recreation.gov, and it took a bit of back and forth, but we finally got a resolution. They are refunding me half the cost of our stay! Thank you for your responsiveness to my concerns

Nice campground, clean rest rooms and camp sites have good room around them. Very beautiful mountain scenery. Only negative thing there is no water.

Everything was great except one thing: The water faucets are not working and haven't for at least 2 years according to what I was told. If I was notified of that fact didn't see it. How about charging a lot less to compensate??? And notifying us? It is quite inconvenient to plan on having water when there is none.

I reserved all 3 of the group sites for our family camping trip July 24-30. I reserved all 3 sites because Recreation .gov says that group site 14 will hold 5 trailers and 25 people, the same with 16. 15 is supposed to hold 10 trailers and 50 people. These are highly exaggerated estimates so I reserve all 3 so others don't come and be disappointed because there is not room for as many as they anticipate. I recommend that anyone anticipating reserving these group sites, visit the campground so you know what reality is. This year there was no potable water available and I was not notified of this until we were there and it was too late to change plans. I love the campground, especially group site 15, but it is expensive to reserve all 3 sites just to keep it a pleasant experience for our family without others coming in and overcrowding the area.
