What Guests Are Saying

Willow Flat Campground is cherished for its beautiful scenery, peaceful atmosphere, and friendly camp host, Chuck, who enhances the experience. Many visitors appreciate the lack of cell service, making it a great spot for family gatherings and outdoor activities like hiking and fishing. However, some amenities, particularly the restrooms and picnic areas, need maintenance and updates, as well as better availability for reservations.

The gazebo is falling apart and has never been replaced or fixed. We like to use that to put a tarp over to keep out rain and to provide shade. Benches around the fire need to have some up keep. The pathway up the stairs is so rocky it is hard for older people in our group to navigate. I feel like this site contributes a lot of money but there doesn't seem to be anything spent on upkeep for this site.

This is a wonderful campsite! We were next to the very clean toilets and a water spicket for drinking water. There was plenty of dead branches around firewood. It was quiet and peaceful. The creek was cold and moves quickly, but it was perfect for my kiddos to play in it. We will definitely be back!!

Beautiful campground! Could use some updates to the amenities (picnic tables and vault toilets could use some help) but overall it's a good place.

Our family has been coming to Willow Flatts campground in southern Idaho for over 40 years, gathering every second weekend of July for a family reunion. Over the decades, this campground has become a cherished place for us, a spot, full of memories, traditions, and the joy of being together outdoors. We especially appreciate that will of flat offers multiple vault toilets and an older flush toilet building with running water. While the vault toilets are useful and necessary, we are always grateful to have that old/toilet as an option. It makes a big difference in comfort, especially for families for anyone who struggles with deodorant and conditions of all toilets. Having that flesh toilet is one of the reasons this campground works so well for our annual reunion. Over the years, we’ve noticed that the flush toilet building doesn’t always receive the maintenance it needs. Nearly every year, some part of the system isn’t working quite right, and it feels like the building is slowly being allowed to wear out. We want to kindly and respectfully ask that the managing agency give this flush toilet building some regular attention and repairs. Our sincere hope is that it will be maintained and preserved, not removed or closed, so the future visitors and future generations of families can enjoy the same comfort we’ve appreciated for decades. We also want to give special kudos to the campground host, Chuck. He is, without question, the best host we have ever had at Willow Flats. Chuck is consistently friendly, welcoming, and attentive, and clearly cares about both the campground and it’s visitors. His dedication and hospitality make our yearly reunion even more enjoyable. Willow flats campground remains a wonderful place for families to gather, relax, and enjoy the outdoors. With continued support for host like Chuck and a bit of extra care devoted to the flesh toilet toilets, we believe it will stay a special destination for many years to come.

We loves this spot so much this is our 5th year in a row staying there. However the pergola needs major repairs and has been getting worse the last few years. This last trip it was missing a pretty large section. We just hope that they can get it fixed and it doesn't keep getting worse.
