Canyon Rim is our absolute favorite campground, even without the hookups. It is so peaceful and beautiful. Maybe because there are no hookups. We have a small self-contained camper with toilet, but because we have to make our black water tank last, we usually use the campground's pit toilet. We were there for four days and never saw a camp host at our campground. The pit toilet was never cleaned and ran out of toilet paper on the third day. Our last day we finally saw who we thought was the camp host. He drove his pick-up into Greens Pond campground and then locked the gate behind him and drove off farther into the campground. Obviously he was avoiding us. We had to leave a day early because our black water tank was almost full and, frankly we were fed up with the poor service and condition at Canyon Rim.

Canyon Rim campground is a small, out of the way campground. We stayed one night in site #13. We had reserved #18, which someone was in it when we arrived, right before sunset! Thank goodness, #13 FF was available! We went into #13 because it was easier for us to do that, rather than the other couple pack up, hook up and move. It was a little tense at first but in the end, everything worked out! We had a very nice night and left the next morning after talking again to the couple in #18. Things happen and reservations can get confusing when you are on the road! They just got confused and once they realized they had made a mistake, they offered to move, but darkness was approaching fast and we took the easier way into a site. Like others mention, the loop is very tight (we drove it twice!), just swing wide and you will be fine. The walk to the rim is close and very nice at sunrise! The canyon is amazing! It is a great stop to experience the canyon.

We very much enjoyed our stay at Canyon Rim Campground. We were in site #13 which is a back in and very nice, mostly level. We drive a Ford F150 with a 19’ trailer and fit just fine. A slightly longer trailer would’ve also fit there. There was one pit-toilet restroom nearby that was very clean that we used on occasion.
We walked the one-mile Rim Trail from the campground and enjoyed the magnificent views of the Flaming Gorge Canyon and Green River below - wow, and then going into the small Visitor Center, nearby. The Visitor Center has a large bank of Windows with commanding views and history of the area. I got my NP Passport stamped, bought postcards, and enjoyed our time there before we walked back to the campground.
We enjoyed our short stay at Canyon Rim and made sure to take the 6-ish mile drive to the Dam for the history of the dam and views; all very nice.

This is a lovely campground on the rim of the lake and it wasn't crowded - even on a holiday weekend. The bathrooms were great and there was shade and good trees for hammocks.

Canyon Rim was beautiful. Well-taken care of, with wide open spaces.

We saw several horse tours go past - they weren’t a bother. We were close to the rim’s edge and the scenery was gorgeous. Very windy, so make sure your tents are well-staked.

Not as separated from other sites as indicated.
7, 8, and 9 are very close together and it was difficult to hide other dogs from one of my dogs so he wouldn’t be barking.
Beautiful location and the bathrooms were clean!! I’d come back but probably try to snag site 10
