Canyon Rim offers a beautiful, well-maintained campground with stunning views of the canyon and a variety of hiking trails nearby. Campsites are spacious, clean, and provide a welcoming atmosphere with friendly camp hosts. While some sites are closer together than expected, the overall experience is highly recommended for its picturesque setting and excellent facilities.

When I arrived at Canyon Rim I had made reservations for 3 consecutive days. All paid in advance of course. Unfortunately, the campground host had no record of my reservations and I had no sites reserved. Fortunately, the campground wasn't full and I was able to get one of the "First-come-first-served" sites, so I was not without a campsite after 1,125 mi of driving from Iowa. Canyon Rim is one of my favorite National Forest campgrounds, as it is remote and quiet and while it has few amenities, the view of Red Canyon and Flaming Gorge are spectacular.
Reservation mix-up aside, I had an enjoyable stay and would recommend Canyon Rim campground to anyone who doesn't need a lot of amenities to stay happy on holiday.

Such a beautiful campground! The bathrooms were immaculately clean. The rim trail is only a short walk from campsites and offers gorgeous views (plus its dog friendly!). Campground host was friendly and kept things looking beautiful. We also saw tons of bighorn sheep grazing around our campsite. We will definitely be back!

The campground manager was very helpful & informative about the area. We saw bighorn sheep 4 of the 5 days we were there, some times right in our camp. The rim overlook is great. We would drive around the area early mornings & evenings and saw mule deer. It is a in nature feel. There are no utility hookups, but the is water access & vaulted toilets.
